How We Became Toffee Makers

How We Became Toffee Makers

We first discovered Confectionately Yours in 2021 and fell in love with the English toffee from the first bite. Decadent, crunchy, buttery, and indulgent, we were wowed by its quality and flavor. So we had another bite, and then another.

Every year during the holidays, Greg’s work would give Gourmet Northwest English Toffee as gifts to its clients. It was his responsibility to place the orders with founder Sue Burns and drive over to her kitchen to pick up the bags of toffee. His yearly visit soon ballooned to not only picking up toffee for his work but also for family, friends, neighbors, and, of course, a bag or two for us.

We found gifting the toffee to be an unbelievably joyful experience. We saw our people with palatable glee opening their fresh bag of chunky toffee, digging in, and commenting with great excitement how the little bags of buttery goodness were their most anticipated and favorite holiday gift (now something we crave year-round!). The toffee never fails to produce that oh-my-gosh-how-does-this-taste-so-good reaction.

So, call us toffee super fans, but when Sue told us she was ready to retire, we came together with family and friends who also became devoted toffee lovers to purchase the business. With tremendous faith and love for this mouthwatering treat, it only made sense to us that "toffee life" is our destiny. We are beyond proud and excited to helm Confectionately Yours in this next era, using the same family recipe and quality standards that the business was built on more than 20 years ago.

The spatula has been passed to us, and with gravitas, we're bringing it to our brand new commercial kitchen right here in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood.

So the journey begins with us, our friends and family partners, and hopefully you!

Special thanks to Sue and Rick Burns for building this small-but-mighty (and deeply loved) toffee company, thank you for trusting us with it in this next chapter.
